Every
day I walk down the streets I am saddened by what I see; old folks toiling and
slaving so hard just to put a meal on their table. I have family members, old,
who are still doing that when they should have retired from active work years
ago. I keep saying a silent prayer and I ask God that that will never be my
portion. I want to enjoy my old age resting, and harvesting what I have planted
all the years of my youth.
I
do not want to wake up one day and realize that I am way past my youth but I did
not do any worthwhile planting. I want to do as much as I can in the few years
of my youth, now when I have the opportunity to build my dreams and now that I have
strength and wisdom, such that when time comes to retire, I will have a
bountiful harvest in my old age. Someone
say ‘Amen!’
Now,
that ‘amen!’ is not complete unless
it is followed by action, serious action, because being a youth is a one in a
lifetime opportunity. Once it has passed, it is gone for good. I do not want to
be the one to sabotage my destiny by not maximizing my youth.
I
am sure that if we ask all our old folks who are still slaving away, they have
an excuse as to why they were not able to retire when they should have. No matter
how genuine their reasons might seem, I believe that every individual is in a
way responsible for how they end up in life. Any form of denial and excuse is
what keeps people stagnant. The minute you start blaming your poor background
for the misery in your life, the minute you start wishing you were born in
better circumstances, the minute you start concentrating on the odds in your
life, that is the very minute you invite stagnation into your life. It is not
always someone else’ fault, sometimes it is our own faults that invite misery
into our lives.
You
have to move from that place of bondage and admit that yes you may have been
born by poor parents, but that is not to say that you will remain poor all your
life. You have to yearn to be delivered from misery. There is an anointing that
breaks the yoke! The power of God is available to do a work in your life and
give you a complete turnaround. His Word is powerful enough to transform. His
hand is powerful and mighty to save.
You
must desire change with everything that is in you. It is said that only wet
babies like a change, because change is not an easy thing. It is not pleasant
to move from ones comfort zone. Maybe it is the fear of the unknown that makes
people fear change, but change is a necessity if you are to break loose from
misery. Do
not be comfortable in your misery, do not embrace misery…misery is a demon that
loves company. Reach out to God and cry out for help and you will get your
breakthrough. Desire to constantly grow, evolve, explore, improve and move
forward. Do not be afraid of taking risks.
Your
fear of change is one of the reasons that will make you slave away in your old
age. When you are stagnant, your life stops appreciating, and instead it starts
depreciating. Put some water in a basin and keep it for while, without changing
it, and you will notice that the water starts smelling. After a while you
cannot even stay near the water anymore. That is so with a life that is
stagnant. It stinks! Family and friends will move away from your life because
of the unpleasantness of your situation and your unwillingness to change. They will
ignore you because you will have nothing worthwhile to offer them. No one wants
to be infected with your misery!
Not
only do stagnant waters stink, but they also breed undesirable things. It is in
and around stagnant waters that you will find mosquitoes and toads. The minute
your life becomes stagnant is the minute you start attracting and being a haven
for unpleasant things. You will find yourself forming alliances with people of
mediocre minds. You will find yourself in company of people that you never
imagined. Spending time in drug dens will no longer be an issue for you because
your stagnation has made you failure personified.
Like
a metal that stays without use for a while rusts and starts disintegrating, so
is a life that is stagnant. A brain that is not used, challenged and exercised
on a daily basis soon becomes ‘rusted’. Within a short time the brain can no
longer function as it is supposed to, and the world is robbed of your
brilliance too. Have you ever asked yourself why so many street people become
mad as they age yet they had no mental illness to start with?
Unhappiness
is the bitter fruit eaten by those who do not want to change. Jealousy about
those who are doing better than you starts to kick in and you start blaming
everyone that is doing well for your misery. Have you ever met people who just
hate others for no apparent reason? You start hating your neighbor simply
because they are living in a better house and their children attend a better
school. Your neighbors are not the reason you are miserable in life; if
anything, your life was miserable even before you met them.
Why
stay in a stagnant life when you can change? Why creep when you can soar? Why settle
for less when there is so much in store for you? Choose change. Choose to risk.
Choose to rid yourself of this spirit of stagnation. Desire to leave your
comfort zone today and explore. It does not matter what you are going through
today, the storms that you are encountering. Like an eagle, you can choose to
use the storms to your advantage and soar way above them.
You
have in you the capacity to soar. Do not give in to adversity and settle for
less. You are an eagle by making. There is no manufacturer of great repute that
can release a defective product into the market. So is our manufacturer. When God
released you into the world, He knew you are an eagle, able to soar above any
storm that comes your way. Stop looking for excuses in your family background (some of the most successful people in the
world come from very poor backgrounds) or your geographical location (there are beggars in England just as there
are beggars in Kenya). Stop looking for excuses in your financial situation
or your sex, your height, your weight, but be encouraged today that you can
achieve whatever you set your mind and heart to.
Stop
wishing you had more talents than you do right now. Start by using that one
talent that you have. Maximize it. Hone your gifts to the fullest. Seek the
Lord and ask Him to reveal to you where your greatest strength lies. Let Him
show you what talents He has put in you, because one day you will stand before
Him and give an account of how you used the talents that He gave you. Fly baby
boy. Fly baby girl. You rightfully belong to a high realm than the one you are
in right now, so fly higher. Stop robbing the world of your brilliance, no one
is benefiting from your creeping and crawling, so spread your wings and soar!
You
are an eagle, so act like one!

Awesome. your a blessing beautiful
